The city of Castle Pines is one of Colorado’s newest incorporated areas having come on board in 2010. It’s boundaries are developments northwest of Castle Pines Parkway, sections north of Happy Canyon on both sides of I-25, the region south of Rueter-Hess Reservoir and its eastern edge runs south all the way to Castle Rock along South Newlin Gulch.

Despite the boundaries, homes south of Happy Canyon on the west side of I-25 are all referred to as Castle Pines, although they are actually part of Castle Pines Village. This gated community is unincorporated and homes have a Castle Rock mailing address. The community surrounds the Castle Pines Golf Club and the Country Club at Castle Pines.

Regardless, the entire Castle Pines area is an upscale neighborhood featuring newer homes, usually priced over $600,000. Many homes in the Castle Pines Golf Club area are well north of $1 million. People enjoy living in this area due to its cooler temperatures (over 1,000 feet above Denver), easy commute to the south Denver suburbs and the DTC, and the spectacular views of the Front Range. The majority of the homes are single-family dwellings.

Situated in Douglas County, residents of Castle Pines enjoy access to many hiking trails, open space areas and exhilarating roads on which to bike. Daniels Park, the only Denver Mountain Park situated in Douglas County, is adjacent to Castle Pines and is a beauty. Set on a high mesa, this historic 1,000-acre park has a rustic shelter, views of canyons and even roaming bison.

Golf is a favorite sport in Castle Pines as the area features four courses — The Sanctuary and The Ridge at Castle Pines North, in addition to the aforementioned Castle Pines Golf Course and Country Club at Castle Pines. Golfers enjoy not only incredible distance off their shots from these high altitude venues but amazing views as well.

Residents of Castle Pines enjoy easy access to shopping at both the Park Meadows Mall and the Outlets at Castle Rock. The recently opened Castle Rock Parkway/North Meadows exit off I-25 provides even better access to your favorite brand stores at the Outlets.
