Settled by farmers more than 140 years ago, Applewood neighborhood is no longer a farming community but you’ll find remnants of the orchards that used to be prevalent in the area. This popular enclave west of Denver is known for its rural setting, large lots, and nice trees.
Applewood neighborhood is located south of Clear Creek, east of Rolling Hills Country Club and South Table Mountain Park, north of 8th Ave and west of Kipling.
Many of the homes in the Applewood neighborhood were built between 1940 and 1969, but the majority have undergone some kind of renovation. Applewood neighborhood is home to both the public Applewood Golf Course and the private Rolling Hills Country Club. Both are popular courses and have longtime members. The views both courses offer are quite dramatic and worth the drive to the west side of town. The neighborhood is populated with many streams and agricultural ditches and is conveniently located next to the South Table Mountain Park. You’ll find wonderful trails crisscrossing this park that offers terrific views of Golden and the Front Range.
