Noteworthy Mention of the Southmoor Park Neighborhood

The Southmoor Park neighborhood takes pride in its identity as a community nestled in southeast Denver, offering a distinctly suburban ambiance. Situated within the irregularly shaped boundaries of I-25, Hampden, Dahlia, Mansfield, Happy Canyon, Monaco, and Belleview, this area provides residents with convenient access to the bustling I-25 corridor and nearby light rail stations. Amidst this urban connectivity, inhabitants also delight in the serene atmosphere of tranquil, tree-lined streets that characterize the neighborhood.

Southmoor Park's Commuter Accessibility

Despite its outlier status, Southmoor Park neighborhood has an impressive selection of housing options. There is a plethora of apartment, townhome, rowhouse and condominium choices along the Monaco corridor, many of which have been built in just the last couple of years. Proximity to the light rail station at Belleview is a huge draw for the residents of Southmoor Park neighborhood as is the Union Street overpass that provides instant access to the Denver Tech Center.

Southmoor Park neighborhood houses were built in the 1960s but there has also been new construction in the area. Most homes are situated on large lots (up to a third of an acre) and range from tidy two-story frame to brick ranches. The homes are accented by huge trees, mature shrubs and lovingly maintained lawns.

People enjoy Jefferson Square Park, located adjacent to Thomas Jefferson High School. You’ll find a nice playground as well as fields that host lacrosse and soccer games. The grounds of the high school are expansive and stretch to the north with baseball and softball fields, a track and tennis courts. Further south, cyclists love the wide sidewalk along Quincy that provides miles of uninterrupted riding, and access to the Highline Canal is less than a mile away.

The new Mile House apartment complex on Belleview includes a couple of exciting new eateries.

Highlights include:

Los Chingones | “If you’re looking for terrific Mexican food, look no further. Try their signature tacos along with a specialty drink.”

Le French | “Another must stop if you’re in the area. Founded by Senegalese French sisters Aminata and Rougui Dia, Le French is a gourmet, casual-chic French bakery and bistro. The cafe specializes in “high-end pastries and elevated modern Parisian cuisine with global influences, a nod to the sisters’ heritage.”
