Kennedy neighborhood is Denver’s most southeast neighborhood, located 12 miles from downtown. Its borders are I-225, Hampden/Havana, Dayton, Dartmouth, Parker Road, and Peoria. The neighborhood is quite small, measuring a little one square mile.

Apartments and a few subdivisions dominate the Kennedy neighborhood. Its proximity to I-225, Havana St. and Nine Mile Station light rail stop making it an attractive, low-cost option for Denverites. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate Kennedy neighborhood’s proximity to golfing, water sports, and walking trails.

Recreation and Culture

Kennedy neighborhood is dominated by the City of Denver’s Kennedy Golf Course. The 27-hole course is a favorite among golfers with its wide fairways and challenging greens. There is also a 9-hole par 3 course, a putt-putt course, pro shop, lighted driving range and Kennedy Tavern Restaurant, all open to the public. Soccer and baseball fans can find fields at Kennedy Park, located just to the east of the golf course. Cherry Creek starts its journey from the Cherry Creek Reservoir to downtown through the Kennedy neighborhood. People love to use the path that parallels it for running, cycling and walking their dogs.

Cherry Creek State Park is just on the other side of I-225. The reservoir features a swim beach, boating dock, marina, playground, and off-leash dog park. Cyclists love the miles and miles of bike trails with minimal car traffic.

Check out the Stampede nightclub and concert venue. Since 1992, this iconic bar features the best in country-western music, dance lessons, and special events.
