August in Summit County is an exciting time filled with a plethora of events. From a bacon-and-bourbon bash to an epic Oktoberfest, the county transforms into a hive of energy, fun, and entertainment.

Bluegrass & Beer Festival

August 3-4, 2024 August means Keystone’s Bluegrass and Beer Festival: craft beers, string bands, and good company in the mountains at the state’s longest running craft beer fest! Enjoy specialty brews, unique pours, and maybe a hard seltzer or cider. Dance to bluegrass acts on three stages in Keystone’s River Run Village. Live music all weekend from national bluegrass acts, crafty brews, and mountain morsels. A memorable mountain weekend

Frisco’s trail race series

August 10, 2024 Whether you’re a long-distance runner tackling a half-marathon, an ambitious 10k participant, or a first-time 5k finisher, Frisco’s trail race series offers spectacular views of Lake Dillon and a post-competition party with pancakes, beer, and live music.

Mt Joy at Dillon Amphitheatre

August 10, 2024 Mt. Joy, an American indie rock band hailing from Los Angeles with deep roots in Philadelphia, is a five-piece ensemble. The band comprises Matt Quinn (vocals, guitar), Sam Cooper (guitar), Sotiris Eliopoulos (drums), Jackie Miclau (keyboards), and Michael Byrnes (bass). Their musical journey began in 2016 with the catchy single “Astrovan”, crafted in Los Angeles by Quinn, Cooper, and Byrnes. Building on this momentum, they followed up in 2017 with a trio of singles – “Sheep”, “Cardinal”, and “Silver Lining”. March 2, 2018, marked the release of their self-titled debut studio album.

Breck Epic Mountain Bike Races

August 11-16, 2024 The Epic comprises six primary backcountry loops (three loops for the three-day Epic-curious events), each spanning 35 to 50 miles. This event’s uniqueness lies in its cloverleaf structure; every loop commences and concludes near downtown Breckenridge, utilizing trails in both Summit and Park Counties. During the course planning, we deliberated on the question, “Which epic rides would we embark on with a full day and six close friends?” The answer is revealed here. The six stages constituting the Epic present an ideal scenario for versatile riders, featuring extended ascents followed by exhilarating descents that will leave your facial muscles fatigued from smiling.

Breckenridge Arts Fest

August 16 – 25, 2024 For art enthusiasts, Breckenridge transforms into an art-lover’s oasis for 10 days. From conventional performances to site-specific art installations, the annual arts fest has something for every type of art aficionado.

Mountain Town Music Festival

August 17, 2024 Experience the essence of Colorado – bask in the warm summer days, groove to the free live music by Runaway Grooms, and embrace the vibrant harvest season of our colorful state. Join us for a weekend in Colorado’s high country to revel in the fading days of summer and embark on that final mountain escapade before the aspens start to paint the landscape in golden hues.

Breckenridge Wine Classic

August 22-24, 2024 Experience The Classic in the charming mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado. Mark your calendars for August 22 – 24 to indulge in an all-encompassing wine tasting festival, complete with live music and delicious bites. Explore a vast array of wines from various regions, varietals, and producers. Uncover new favorites, delve into the art of winemaking, and mingle with fellow wine aficionados in Breckenridge this summer.

Hogfest

 August 30th-September 1st, 2024 Check your diet at the door and immerse yourself in this indulgent food-and-booze fest. Bourbon makers such as Buffalo Trace Distillery and Sazerac Distillery serve up samples of their spirits that pair perfectly with an array of gastronomic delights from various vendors. Upgrade to VIP for a bourbon pairing dinner and a Sunday brunch featuring bacon bloody marys.

A Tribute to John Denver

August 31, 2024 John Denver may not have been a native, but we certainly claim him as one of our own. At the Riverwalk Center concert, you can hear the legend’s songs performed by a tribute group, accompanied by photography from celebrated local artists.

Oktoberfest

August 31,2024 Nestled in the mountains, we’re thrilled to bring you Keystone Festival’s Oktoberfest ahead of schedule, ensuring maximum summer fun. Join us for a Labor Day Weekend celebration filled with activities for the whole family. Kids can revel in Kinderfest, a children’s Oktoberfest featuring creative crafts from The Frosted Flamingo mobile art studio, captivating dance performances, and polka lessons from the Alpen Auerhahn Schuhplattlers. Adults can indulge in an array of craft beers while engaging in spirited events like the chicken dance.
