The Best Après Ski Spots Around Colorado

Whether you are a seasoned professional or hitting the slopes for the first time, après ski is a common interest among all skiers. Après meaning “after” in French sums up why it’s an all around favorite. After a day of shredding, nothing says a job well done like treating yourself. In fact, many agree it’s the motivation behind skiing. It’s also a great way to meet in the middle. Don’t want to hold your friends back on the slopes? Tell them you will meet them at the bottom of the mountain. You can get a head start and après ski all day long.

You can après ski anywhere, even back at your AirBnb in the hot tub enjoying a cold brew. Here’s a list of a few of the most popular après spots around Colorado, since you’re here you might as well enjoy it!

The Remedy Bar, Vail

Not only is this a hot spot in Vail Valley, it’s one of the top bars in Colorado. Their cocktails are top-notch and referred to as “elixirs,” automatically creating an elevated atmosphere. Whether you are sitting on the expansive outdoor balcony or cozied up by the fireplace indoors, your views of the mountain are breathtaking. Known for their hot chocolate, be sure to stop by and enjoy a mug on your next trip to Vail!

Bachelor’s Lounge, Avon

Located in the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch you will find America’s highest cigar bar at 8,125 feet. With direct access to Beaver Creek ski resort, the ski-in, ski-out lounge is the place to be. For those that aren’t smokers, don’t fret. There is a smoke room that is separate from the main lounge, allowing all comers to feel comfortable and relax. While it is mainly known for its vast collection of cigars, it doesn’t stop there. They have a dense availability of spirits, imported beers, and small plates to enjoy after a long day on the slopes.

Slopeside Grill, Steamboat Springs

Found at the base of the mountain, Slopeside Grill is the epitome of après in Steamboat Springs. Ironically, their outdoor seating area is referred to as “the Beach,” and it’s the perfect location to close out your day on the mountain. With it’s prime location, you can have your non-skiers friends meet you there! Best known for their pizza, burgers, and beers, Slopeside is a welcoming atmosphere for everyone!

Gorrono Ranch, Telluride

Formerly a sheep ranch, Gorrona Ranch is the perfect spot for a mid-day aprés at the top of the mountain. Found under the Village Express Lift 4 and accessible via Misty Maiden, Butterfly, and Village Bypass ski runs. This on mountain dining experience is cafeteria style and has all the essentials: mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwich, nachos, and more. Enjoy this along with the unbeatable views of the Wilson range on their famous “Snow Beach.”

Ajax Tavern, Aspen

Arguably, the most iconic après location in Colorado, Ajax Tavern sits at the foot of Silver Queen Gondola. As a part of the Little Nell hotel, this spot is constantly popping. It’s popularity is no joke, so expect a wait time. Yet, worth it, with one of the best seats in Aspen; a wonderful view of the mountain paired with delicious food and a lively atmosphere

T-Bar, Breckenridge

At the bottom of Peak 8, you will find Breck’s hottest après scene, T-Bar. With an expansive patio, the vista of the skiers coming down the mountain is incredible. Having a full bar and food menu along with table service, this is the place to unwind after a long day.

Skier or not, après is for everyone. These are just a few of the hot spots, but there are endless options. The more après, the more fun. So, it’s time to start planning a trip to the mountains!
