Riverfront Park Free Weekly Activities

There is no better location than Riverfront Park to participate in a full slate of free weekly fitness activities. Join up with your friends or meet new ones at these terrific sessions that stress fun, movement and improved health. Starting June 3rd and concluding September 1st, take advantage of these exceptional workouts that are guaranteed to get your day or evening going in a positive way. After your workout, check out some of the inspiring architecture and restaurants in the area.

Meditation: Tuesdays, 8:15 – 9 a.m.

Every Tuesday you can increase your perception, peace and well-being with a guided meditation session. In this day and age, it is important to completely unplug from the screens, cellphones and stress of the daily routine. What a better way than to approach a stillness with likeminded people, absolutely free!

Yoga: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Yoga has been around for centuries and is a way to get your physical, mental and spiritual beings in alignment. Enjoy a free guided practice under the trees in Riverfront Park.

Beginning Yoga: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 – 11 a.m.

If you’re not sure how to handle all three of your beings at the same time, beginner yoga will help you down the right path.

Oula: Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Oula is considered by some to be a “fun dance workout.” Many others feel that Oula is a mind-body practice that helps unlock inner bliss. Either way, you will get an amazing workout with this fast-paced, energetic exercise.

Tai Chi: Thursdays, 9 – 10 a.m.

This ancient Chinese martial art is revered for both its effectiveness as defense training and rendering health benefits. Tai Chi takes many forms, both traditional and modern, depending on the desired emphasis. It is typically marked by relatively slow movements to increase body awareness and discipline.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): Saturdays, 9 – 10 a.m.

High Intensity Interval Training is a serious cardio workout that puts your body to the test! Think push-ups, jumping jacks, burpees and other amazingly and humbling body weight exercises that will shred you just in time to get you in “pool” shape. Start your Saturday off right so you won’t feel guilty when you head to brunch.

Walking Group – Sundays 9 – 10 a.m.

While you probably already know that walking is good for your health, did you know it helps with managing various conditions including high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease? There is almost no better way to start your day than a nice walk to help get the blood flowing and clear your head. Meet new friends and explore the neighborhood with Riverfront Park’s walking group.
