Parade of Lights, Civic Center

December 7th | 6 PM – 9 PM

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 9NEWS Parade of Lights, a cherished tradition proudly organized by the Downtown Denver Partnership. On December 7, thousands will gather in Downtown Denver to experience the magic of this beloved event.

The parade will showcase over 40 dazzling floats, giant balloons, marching bands, equestrian units, cultural performances, and special appearances by Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa Claus!

Parade Route

The parade begins at 14th and Bannock Streets, where you can purchase grandstand seating in front of the City and County Building. Spectators can view the parade for free along the two-mile route on Tremont Street between 14th and 17th Streets, on 17th Street from Tremont to Arapahoe Street, on Arapahoe between 17th and 15th Streets, and on 15th Street from Arapahoe to Glenarm. Denver’s Christkindlmarket

Opening Night is November 22nd through December 23rd | Civic Center Park

The Denver Christkindlmarket offers an authentic German-style holiday experience, featuring local and European craft and food vendors alongside enchanting entertainment for all ages. This festive market is a must-visit (and must-taste!) destination of the season. Admission is free and open to everyone!

Grand Illumination at Union Station

November 29th at 4 PM | Union Station

This year’s Grand Illumination is packed with festive fun for all ages! Enjoy beloved holiday songs performed by the Denver Dolls and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
