Usaj Realty and UMB bank recently partnered to collect hundreds of stylish wardrobe items for Dress for Success Denver.
In addition to collecting much needed clothing, the two organizations helped spread the word about DFS Denver and its efforts to empower at-risk women. People who provided clothes and accessories enjoyed delicious food, wine and beer, and great conversation at the Usaj Realty office.
Since 2006, DFS Denver has provided over 10,000 women with job readiness tools, professional attire and post-employment support to assist them in their efforts to achieve economic self-sufficiency. DFS Denver provides a network of support, professional clothing and accessories, and the career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life.
Over 200 local partners connect women to the Dress for Success programs and services, including domestic abuse shelters, halfway houses, homeless shelters and county workforce centers. DFS Denver offers a second chance to women who seek to change their economic situation and make a better life for themselves and their families. The programs help clients become and stay employed, achieve promotions and raises, participate in valuable networking and leadership opportunities, strengthen financial literacy and embrace life-long learning as they move towards economic independence.
Erika Miller, Vice President/Branch Manager of UMB Bank, LoDo, assisted with the Dress for Success fundraiser and is a strong advocate for giving back to the Denver community.
