Colorado Ski Area Opening Dates 2022-2023

Last weekend’s snow in the high country reminds us that it won’t be long before we’ll be able to start making turns at many of the ski resorts in Colorado. Several ski areas have already begun snowmaking operations and other resorts are expected to rev up the snow guns in the next few weeks

Yes, it’s early October but several of the ski areas close to Denver are hopeful of opening in just a few weeks. Both Arapahoe Basin and Keystone have their sights set on a mid-October start and Loveland is also hopeful of an October launch.

While most of Colorado ski resorts won’t open until mid-November, it’s always fun to get some turns in as early as possible. Let’s hope the snow gods are kind to us this year! Below is a list of Colorado ski area opening dates for 2022-2023.

It’s also a good idea to plan your accommodations for a long weekend (or week). Don’t get stuck without a place to stay! Finally, season passes are still available at many of the ski resorts. Check out the prices and determine which offering best fits your budget and schedule. Many of the passes increase in price in the next couple of weeks so don’t delay!

(All dates listed below are subject to change depending on weather/snow conditions. Check each area’s website or social media for the latest information on opening dates).
