7 Best Baseball Bars in Denver

There is no better combination than springtime and the Colorado Rockies. We’re talking the baseball Rockies, of course. That and Baseball Bars.

The pandemic took away many of our most pleasant diversions, Major League Baseball being one of the most prominent. But not this year! Although there will be limited in-person tickets available for the next few months, our beloved Rockies are back at it on Blake Street.

If you are new to Denver, spending an afternoon or evening at Coors Field is one of the best things in life. Taking in great baseball, watching the antics of everyone’s favorite mascot, Dinger, tasting wonderful food and drink, and enjoying the views from the best stadium in the country is not to be missed.

From now until September (and hopefully into October!), the LoDo and Ballpark neighborhoods will become the epicenter of excitement for days and evenings to come as we enjoy America’s favorite pastime in the Mile High City.

There are scores of sports bars ready to welcome you with dozens of screens and ultimate happy hours. Whether you are sneaking out of work early to catch a mid-week afternoon game or staying after hours to watch the action, Denver has the perfect environs for your viewing tastes.

Usaj Realty has prepared a list of our seriously biased best baseball bars in Denver. We are unabashed in our pickings — these watering holes are close to our place of work, have great ambiance and serve up not only great food and drink but lots of fun. Join up with your coworkers and friends at these wonderful watering holes that are in no particular order to cheer on the Rockies.

The Sports Column

Established in 1996, the Sports Column is steps away from the ballpark. Housed in a renovated brick warehouse, it has a terrific rooftop to enjoy your favorite beverage and burger. Patrons love the happy hour, Monday through Friday, and Tuesday tacos. Routinely voted as Denver’s best sports bar, the Sports Column has screens galore, drink specials and is ready to rock during the season. The Sports Column has drink specials two hours prior to all Rockies home games which features pitchers, draft and cocktails.   Hungry? Try the burger and beer special offered two hours prior to all Rockies home games.

Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot (WTF)

Boasting over 90 whiskeys, 30 draft beer taps and cocktails, WTF also has game day specials to keep their customers happy when the Rockies are in town. Check out their buckets of beer, PBR tallboys, and Fireball and Jager shots. Located on the backside of Coors Field in the Ballpark neighborhood, WTF has sidewalk outdoor seating as well as an awesome rooftop area complete with twinkle lights and activated misters during hot summer days and nights.

The ViewHouse

There is a method behind the madness, and a reason they selected the name for this establishment in Denver. View the stadium, the game on dozens of screens including a massive 198 inch LED and the fans decked out in purple at the ViewHouse. There is something going on here all the time — check out their events page for upcoming activities. Happy hour is Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. Featuring $3 Bud Light, Coors LIght and View House Beer, house wine and spirits, $6 apps and the amazing $20 wine board with Coppola wines. Check out their Facebook page for the full lineup.

Tap 14

Located a stone’s throw from Coors Field, Tap 14 features an expansive rooftop (above Hayter’s), complete with picnic tables, and 50 + Colorado draft craft beers and whiskey. Try their mac and cheese or the Ball Park wings. The wide open rooftop includes views of the Denver skyline, Coors Field and all the best of LoDo. Play a game of corn hole while taking in the scenery.

The Rooftop

Until further notice, the Rooftop at Coors Field will be closed this season in order meet COVID-19 guidelines. Gatherings are not being allowed in standing room areas of the ballpark. Check their website periodically for any updates on whether the Rooftop will open.

If you’ve never experienced the Rooftop, make sure you visit in the future. WHAT A LOCATION!  Perched above Coors Field along the upper right field deck, patrons have an eagle’s eye view of not only the game but the stunning Colorado Front Range. There is 38,000 square feet in which to watch the game and people watch. Beverage and food are provided by three upscale bars and eateries in this two-tiered area which features an urban garden, VIP cabanas and multiple TVs. The Rooftop is open to all ticketed guests; standing room tickets for The Rooftop are available. For some games, general admission seating in sections U310-314 may become available on a first come, first served basis. These tickets will not be determined and announced until the day of the game.

Jackson’s LoDo

Since 1995, Jackson’s has been a favorite venue of Rockies’ fan before, during and after the game. Situated directly across the street from Coors Field, Jackson’s features 70 HD screens, an enormous rooftop patio and multiple food and drink specials.

Cherry Cricket LoDo

Now occupying the former Breck on Blake, the Cherry Cricket brings to LoDo the same delicious food and drink that has made it a Denver institution for over 70 years. Cherry Cricket LoDo is directly across from Coors Field, bringing its platter size burgers and its signature fish tank. The 1,500 gallon tank has tropical fish and some amusing tank decor.

Blake Street Tavern

Located in the shadow of Coors Field, the Blake Street Tavern has been a fan favorite since 2003. Blake Street Tavern has dedicated itself to elevating the traditional sports bar experience into the ultimate sports bar experience. Whether you’re stopping by to catch a game, are a member of one of our dedicated alumni watch groups, or new to the Tavern, you’ll find  exceptional fare, unique atmosphere and friendly service. Be sure to check out the daily drink deals, weekday lunch specials and the exceptional outdoor patio and seating.
