Residents of Riverfront Park love its proximity to the South Platte River and Confluence Park. Kayak enthusiasts love the water park at the junction of Cherry Creek and the South Platte where they can test their paddling skills against the current.

A quick 5 minute walk from the heart of Riverfront Park, Kriser’s Natural Pet Store offers a great selection of pet products and exceptional customer service. Conveniently located right next door to King Soopers, you can hit the pet store after doing your human food shopping!

REI

If you’ve lived in Denver for any amount of time, you’ll know that REI is the preferred store for all your outdoor recreational needs. From kayaks to rock climbing, biking to camping, REI’s flagship store has it all. Located in the historic Denver Tramway Company building, people come to view the historic building as much as all the goods inside.

Built in 1901, the 90,000 square foot building used to house boilers and engines for the rail system that operated street cars in Denver during the early 20th century. Following an extensive renovation, the building attained historic status in 2011 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

REI took over the building in the early 2000s and features an enormous climbing wall, auditorium, children’s play area and a variety of rentals and repair services. It’s location on the banks of the South Platte River is the perfect complement to this outdoor powerhouse. REI is located at 1416 Platte St.

Menya

This ramen and poke Japanese restaurant has become a staple for residents of downtown Denver. With two locations at 1590 Little Raven St., Suite #107 (LoHi) and 951 16th St. #104 (between Champa and Curtis on the 16th St. Mall), they offer unique and delicious Japanese fare. Ramen, poke, sushi, tapas and other delightful dishes are superbly prepared and served in elegant style. All Menya locations are now open and indoor seating is available at 50 percent capacity. Menya is open daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Kaffe Landskap

This Scandinavian coffee shop is a newcomer to the LoDo area and you’ll become a big fan of their coffee and extensive food offerings. Get your day going with Landskap Coffee of the Day or try their turmeric latte. You’ll be energized throughout the morning with their breakfast bowls filled with power-packed plant protein, a variety of fruit, granola and seeds or a scrumptious breakfast sandwich, wrap or burrito. Located at 1750 Wewatta St., Kaffe Landskap is open daily from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
