As one of the world’s premier ski mountains, it’s understandable that Vail has accommodations to match and exceed expectations of travelers from around the globe. Whether you are looking for quaint, Old World-styled lodging or a contemporary-flair, the community’s hotels and condos are as unique as its guests.

With three main areas in the town — Vail Village, Gold Peak or Lionshead area — the community has got you covered for a quick weekend stay or full-blown vacation. The superb accommodations combined with tasty restaurants, unique shopping and a European-styled village is sure to keep you coming back.

The distinct advantage of staying in the center of Vail is its walkability to the slopes. Your lodge may not be ski in-ski out but it’s doubtful you’re going to be more than a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest ski lift or gondola. Furthermore, you can always jump on the free bus that will take you wherever you need to be.

Check out some of Usaj Realty’s favorite places to rest your bones after a busy day on the slopes. You can’t go wrong with any of these storied accommodations!

Steeped in history and charm, the venerable Sonnenalp has been a favorite since 1979. This iconic property with its recognizable happy sun logo is truly a Vail landmark, and it has grown and changed over the decades but has retained its Old World charm. The Faesslers of Bavaria originally purchased the Wedel Inn next to the covered bridge and renamed it Hotel Sonnenalp. Now decades later, the Sonnenalp graces and defines its location at 20 Vail Road (intersection of Vail Road and East Meadow Drive). The Sonnenalp features 112 luxury suites and 15 hotel rooms – all with a view of either Gore Creek or Vail Village. Each suite has a bedroom and a well-appointed, delightfully comfortable living room area. Don’t miss an incredible dining experience and book a reservation at the Swiss Chalet. Authentic regional hearty favorites such as Schnitzel and delicious fondues make the Swiss Chalet a delectable dining experience rich in flavor and aroma.

Gravity Haus

Its location just a short walk from the Gondola One and the unique membership options make Gravity Haus a popular option for people looking for great accommodations as well as top tier amenities and outdoor experiences. Offering 22 luxurious rooms, group fitness classes, in-house restaurant and a spectacular spa, this property is far more than just a hotel. Members enjoy 50 percent off lodging but you don’t have to be a member to make reservations. Discounts on spa treatments, access to co-working space, member-only trips around the globe and savings on food and beverage items are just a few of the perks of being a Gravity Haus member. Dog friendly rooms are available for an additional charge.

Tivoli Lodge

This venerable lodge dates back to the founding of Vail when Bob and Diane Lazier honeymooned at the fledgling ski resort. Their vacation turned into a long-term commitment to the community when they opened their doors and guests became like family. Rooms and suites reflect Tyrolean-style furnishings impeccably designed and carefully crafted. Relax in the cozy lobby in front of the roaring fireplace with warm cookies and hot chocolate, tea or cider. After a day enjoying the Colorado outdoors, you’ll appreciate a soak in the enveloping hot tub or rehashing your turns in front of the firepit. Amenities include (but aren’t limited to) an on-site fitness center as well as daily membership to the Vail Athletic Club, hot breakfast, business center, a quick walk to the Golden Peak chair lifts and Gondola One, and instant access to the free bus.

Vail Marriott

This mainstay in Lionshead consistently offers great lodging and services to its guests. With a full slate of 323 rooms and 20 suites, this hotel offers accommodations ranging from affordable two-double beds on up to a ritzy penthouse suite.  All the rooms are well-appointed and have been upgraded with all the finishes one expects from a Vail experience. The Marriott enjoys a spectacular location in Lionshead, only minutes away from the Lionshead Gondola and base area, and hosts a stop on the free bus line. Like most full service hotels, you’ll find first class amenities on site including dining, full service spa and fitness center, an exquisite outdoor heated pool and hot tub and picturesque outdoor patio area. The Marriott is also home to Vail Sports (Epic Mountain Rentals) where you can rent equipment and find the perfect apparel for your day on the slopes.
